A semi-invasive diagnostic procedure in which a special probe is inserted through the patient’s mouth and guided down the esophagus to the level of the heart. This procedure is used to additionally diagnose certain conditions that cannot be confirmed with a standard echocardiography and is scheduled exclusively based on an appropriate indication from a cardiologist or cardiac surgeon.
